Hi there, I manage a lot of RoboHelp projects that are currently stored on a local PC. I'm pushing to get them added to our TFS server, but none of us have done this before, and the IT guys have questions I can't answer, so here I am!
The main thing they're asking about is:
Are there any temporary files in a RoboHelp project that can be safely deleted - i.e. files that are generated/overwritten every time the project is accessed? The aim here is to reduce the project to the core source files, and to reduce the amount of files checked in and out. As I understand it, if these files were added to TFS, when RoboHelp attempts to edit them when I open the project on my local machine, they'll either stay checked-in and unable to be edited, or they'll be automatically checked-out by RoboHelp and I'll need to manually check them back in. I'm concerned I might miss these files and they don't get checked-in/out when they should be, and I encounter issues further down the line. If we leave them out of the source control project, and let RoboHelp generate them 'offline' in my local project, we should be able to avoid these issues.
If I've misunderstood this, or there's more I need to consider, please let me know!
Thank you.
